About the client
Alex came to us after 2020 threw his business up in the air. After decades of touring globally as a pianist with music’s finest, from Carly Simon to Engelbert Humperdinck, he had found his roots in Houston. However, 2020 was a tough year for musicians.
Like any smart business-minded individual, Alex found a way to pivot, and began offering new services to new demographics. He was immediately successful, but unsure how to market his new offerings.
He was now so much more than a musician… he was a business owner with the potential to grow something substantial.
And that’s when he met up with us. He needed a website that would clearly outline his business offerings, highlight his success in the music industry, and let the people of Houston know exactly how to find him.

Brand development
We loved Alex’s black, white, and red logo from the start, so we latched onto it and doubled down. The black and white motif of the brand we created plays to the classic nature of Alex’s talent as a pianist and the raw authenticity he brings to every project. The punches of red illustrate the flavor he weaves in between.
BUILDING A BUSINESS
Alex’s business and musical genius was already in place, but it was up to us to tell a story that would convert to future business. Through interviews, we learned who Alex was trying to reach and how to convert them into future revenue (after all, a website isn’t only about being pretty).
We broke his services down by “for musicians” and “book a musician” so that both audiences could find their place on the site. We also took special care to highlight Alex’s successes as a musician while maintaining Alex’s authentic sense of humility.
PHOTOGRAPHY OVERSIGHT
Once the theme was in place, we worked with Alex’s local photographer to ensure that some of the photos taken on their shoot would fit with the aesthetics of the site we were building. A brand is a 360 project and imagery plays into every step.
